8.2 million people call New York City Home
We bring them safety and warmth – through our compliance services, and through plain old caring and giving.
JaffaCares
The company-wide initiative that takes our love for this city and its people out of the office and into the streets.

Our mission is all about safety, and JaffaCares is the natural outcome of the safety work we do every single day.
Some of our favorite events
Bringing safety, fun and community to Brooklyn
Sunday August 4 brought festivities to Spring Creek Towers in Eastern Brooklyn. Children and their families gathered on the basketball courts outside the Brooklyn Sports Club on Van Siclen Avenue for the JaffaCares Safety Sunday event. Hundreds of bicycle helmets and over a thousand stove knob safety covers filled tables and boxes, waiting for residents to collect them free of charge.
In addition to the giveaways, the NYPD arrived to register bikes, and the FDNY manned a booth to distribute safety information. A fire truck made an appearance so children could meet the firemen and take photos with them and their truck.
State senator Roxanne Persaud attended to show her support for the initiative. The highlight of the day, a high-octane basketball game played between law enforcement and first responders, was coached by the teens of the neighborhood.
"This was a profound opportunity to be able to interact with the people we're paid to defend, and the comradery was amazing."
Bringing warmth to the NYC inhabitants who need it most
For many, winter is a time of warmth – family time around the dinner table or fireplace, holiday spirits and cozy memories.
For others winter is a frightening hurdle to surmount – and sometimes even feels insurmountable.
Through our JaffaCares program, we at Jaffa strive to bring a little bit of warmth to those in the cold. In early December, the Jaffa team took to the streets to make New York a warmer, better place to live. With the particiapton of NYC council members, Catholic Chariites of the Archdiocese of New York, and Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens, we handed out free winter coats to hundreds of poverty-stricken and homeless New Yorkers.
Helping Our City Government Keep Us Safer
Tragedy is part of being human, but so are generosity, care, and smart preventive thinking.
Winter of 2017 saw the heart-wrenching catastrophe of 13 people perishing in a fire started by a child who had access to unprotected stove knobs. A year later NYC launched a new law sponsored by Congressman Torres and Borough President Diaz,, requiring all apartments with children under the age of 6 to be supplied with stove knob safety covers.
With the passing of the bill, JaffaCares announced that we were sponsoring free sets of knob covers to anyone who wanted to make their home safer. We delivered boxes of knob cover sets to over 30 participating council members’ offices so young families across the city could easily pick up a set.
We’re proud to have stood together with Mr. Torres, the Borough President, and many other New York City Council Members in helping the NYC community.
